For the past ten years, my husband had been nagging me for a remote control airplane. Apparently, he’s had an obsession with remote control airplanes since he was a child, but his parents never let him have one. I’ve heard endless stories about how he would play with his cousins’ remote control airplanes and how he never had one of his own. At first I ignored his lamenting and wrote it off as an attempt to relive his youth. However, I finally relented and went shopping for remote control airplanes the other day and was I surprised at what I found.

Now when I first agreed to go shopping for remote control airplanes, I thought we’d be looking at spending at least a couple hundred dollars and that the thing wouldn’t work well anyway. After all, how the heck could aviation technology be compacted into a little flying machine?
Surprisingly, I found out that you could get remote control airplanes for well under $100 (in fact, there was one for $19.99) and not only do they work well, they’re tons of fun to play with. So now that my husband has his own remote control airplane, we’re going shopping for remote control airplanes for the boys next week.
So if someone you love has been begging for a remote control airplane, give in and go shopping. You’ll be surprised at what you find.
