Father's Day Ideas for Kids
A Candy Hunt Can Be a Great Father's Day Activity
Usually when kids go on hunts, it has to do with eggs and bunnies. Father's Day, however, can also be a great time to put on a hunt for the kids. After all, what better way to spend Father's Day than with some good, old-fashioned fun.
It's All In The Candy
A candy hunt works just like an Easter Egg hunt and it's a great activity for dads and young children to do together on Father's Day. However, not just any candy will do for such a special event.
When you buy candy for the Father's Day candy hunt, make sure it's candy that won't melt in the sun if you're going to have the hunt outside. Jaw breakers, Nerds, gum and Sweet Tarts should be fine.
If you're having your Father's Day candy hunt inside, anything goes. Chocolate bars, candy coins, marshmallow treats -- the options are endless.
Make It Fair For Everyone
If kids from different age groups want to celebrate the Father's Day candy hunt together, make sure you set some ground rules to avoid conflict. For instance, you can color code the candy for each age or you can set a limit to the amount of candy each child can claim.
Say Cheese
Don't forget to take pictures of your Father's Day candy hunt. Once the photos are developed you can put together a collage for dad that he can treasure for years to come.
A New Tradition
If your family doesn't yet have a fun Father's Day tradition, a candy hunt may be the perfect solution. While a Father's Day candy hunt probably isn't as common as Easter hunts are, they can be just as fun and maybe even more memorable.
