Ghost Tours Offer Fun and Frightful Evening

Have You Been on a Ghost Tour Lately?

If you’re looking for something fun to do, you might consider ghost tours. Almost every state in the nation has numerous locations that offer ghost tours. Obviously if you aren’t into the paranormal or don’t believe ghosts exist you may still enjoy ghost tours. An overwhelming majority of individuals enjoy ghost tours for their paranormal quality, and an equally large number of individuals enjoy ghost tours for the historic information they provide.

Plan Ahead

During peak tourism times, ghost tours are extremely popular and often sell out. If you are touring a place on a limited schedule, you should call in advance to reserve your tickets. Many ghost tours are walking tours and will include visits to several haunted locations within a town. They typically start about one hour before sunset so that you won’t be walking around in the darkness, and you are not walking in bright sunlight either.

If someone in your group has special needs or physical disabilities, you should consult the tour guide in advance. The reasoning is because all of these haunted houses have stairs and may not be wheelchair accessible.

What You'll See

A guided ghost tour will usually take the group to three or four ghost sites. At each site, the tour guide will provide historical information and tell the ghost stories that have been reported with that location. The ghost stories usually are very open-ended leaving you a lot of food for thought. Your tour guide will usually be very knowledgeable on the subject matter. Feel free to ask questions when walking in between sites or at the end of the tour.

Don't Forget Your Manners

It is proper etiquette to tip your ghost tour at the end of the tour if you were satisfied with the information presented. This may seemed a bit odd, but the tour guide only receives a percentage of the fee you paid for the ghost tour.
