Heelys -- The Hot New Trend

Do You Have Heelys?

If I told you that your kids wanted a pair of Heelys, would you know what in the world I was talking about? Trust me, if you have children between the ages of 5 and 13, they probably want a pair, so if you don’t know what Heelys are, it’s time to get acquainted with this hot new trend.

A Shoe with Wheels

Remember in the 1980s they had sneakers that were actually roller skates and then in the 90s they had shoes that turned into roller skates? Well Heelys are the newest version of the rolling shoe trend. Heelys have a wheel in the heel of the shoe, so your kids can walk on them and use them like normal sneakers or they can roll around on the heels of their feet. Don’t you wish they had stuff like this when you were a kid?

If your kids want a pair of Heelys, you’d better start calling local stores or checking out websites that carry them. Most stores only have them available on backorder because the shoes have been selling out quickly. I had to wait a couple of weeks before my backorder came in and my kids were acting like those two weeks were pure agony.

Heelys aren’t cheap. They’re about $60 to $80 a pair depending on which style of Heelys you get. I suggest buying them a size bigger than your child normally wears because they seem to run small.

Oh, and if you’re a kid at heart and like the idea of Heelys, they make them in adult sizes too.
