Sledding the Winter Away
Sledding Is a Great Winter Pastime
There’s a lot to be said for rushing down a hill on a sled, the wind blowing against your face and the chill of winter trying to catch up with you. Hot cocoa afterwards and warming yourself by a fire when your sledding adventures have come to an end make sledding even more fun. But with so many sleds to choose from, which sled do you choose?
Toboggans
Toboggans are basically traditional sleds without the runners. Toboggans are available in a number of styles and colors and are one of the most popular sleds on the market.
Saucer Sleds
These sleds are very common and very inexpensive. They look somewhat like a plastic flying saucer and can reach high speeds, but steering control is minimal. They make great downhill sledding sleds as long as you don’t need to steer through a course.
Hand Sleds
These sleds aren’t meant to be sled on, but rather someone rides while another person pulls the sled.
Dog Sleds
If you love dogs, you might want to get into dog sledding. It’s a popular sport where a team of dogs pulls a rider on the sled.
Regardless of which of the above sleds you choose to ride, you’re sure to have a blast sledding through the snow in the midst of winter.
