Fun Things To Do Before The Kids Go Back To School
Well, I don’t know about you but we’ve had a great summer here. In a way I’m relieved the kids are going back to school, on the other hand I think I’m really going to miss having them around. To make their last weeks of freedom special, we’ve got a few different things planned.
Six Flags Great America
Tomorrow we’re going to Six Flags Great America. The kids love it there and I have to say I’m looking forward to my only funnel cake of the year. The only thing I don’t like about the place is that it costs about three dollars for a can of pop out of the vending machine and they don’t let you bring in your own food or drinks. On a hot day, that really starts to add up. However, the fun the kids have throughout the day definitely makes it worth it.
The Zoo
Next weekend we’re going to the county zoo. My daughter loves the penguins and my son is fascinated with the bears. What I like about the zoo is that it’s educational in addition to being entertaining (at least our zoo is anyways). It’s a full day packed with fun and the kids always fall asleep on the way home.
The Water Park
There’s a water park not too far from our home and we try to go there at least once a year. We’re doing the zoo next Saturday so next Sunday we’re going to hit the water park. I’m hoping between the amusement park, the zoo and the water park, the kids will have a fun-filled last few weeks of summer vacation and they’ll be rearing to go on the first day of school.
No matter where you take your kids or what you do these few weeks before school starts, make sure you make it memorable. After all, they’re going to be grown before you know it and someday they’re going to want to hit the mall with their friends rather than the zoo with you.
